ATTACHING THE CHEEKS
Pin a cheek to either side of the beak, using the tail end sew the cheeks to head.
Weave in ends.
ADDING HAT
Pin the hat to the top of the head, to the one side of the hair. Using the starting tail from 6 to sew the hat to the head.
ADDING THE BOW
Wrap the tail end tightly around the center of the bow 10 times, then make a knot using both the starting and tail ends. Weave one tail into the back of the bow and use the other tail end to attach the bow to the head. Pin the bow to the side of the head below the hat and attach it to the head. Weave in end.
FINISHING THE EYES AND EYEBROWS (optional)
Using some black yarn or embroidery thread add eyelashes and eyebrows, this is where you can make your Lovey your own, have fun with it. I added the pins to show you where to add the eyebrows, but I opted to leave them out. I have included a link to a useful video tutorial to assist you with making the eyes. Click HERE to follow the link.
ATTACHING THE WINGS THE HEAD
Insert a pin into the centre back of the head on round 28, then count 5 rows to the left and 5 rows to the right. Place a pin in the 5th row stitches. Then pin one wing to the one side and one wing to the other side – you want the wings to face down and you will sew the underneath part of the wings to the head. Using the tail ends sew the wing to the head. Weave in ends.
ATTACHING THE POM POMS TO THE LOVEY BLANKET
Using the tail ends of each pom pom sew one pom pom to each end of three corners. Weave in ends.
ATTACHING THE MOON TO THE LOVEY BLANKET
Using the tail end of the moon, attach it to the 4th corner. Weave in ends.
ATTACHING THE HEAD TO THE LOVEY BLANKET
Place the lovey blanket with the wrong side facing the bottom side of the head, with the corner that has the moon attached to it facing towards the beak. Pin the blanket in place. Using a 30 cm piece of yarn the same colour as the section of the lovey blanket that you are going to attach to the head so that the stitches are not visible. I used (SUN RAY). Sew the lovey blanket to the bottom of the head between the wings. I have added a photo to show you the approximate stitch placement which is found in the Photo Tutorial Crochet Pattern which you can download as it was included in your purchase.
