Part 5
PATCHES
Make two. Using colour (AUTUMN MIX ) ch 6.
Helpful hint: we are now working in rows so turn your work after each row.
Row 1
Sc into 2nd ch from hook, sc into next 4 ch, turn work (5 sc).
Rows 2 – 5
Ch 1 (does not count as st), sc into same st, sc into 4 sts, turn work (5 sc).
Row 6 – border
With right side facing upward, ch 1 (does not count as st), sc into same st, ch 1, sc into same st (corner), *sc 3 sts evenly along edge, (sc, ch 1, sc) into next st (corner)* rep *.* 2 more times, sc 3 sts evenly along edge, ss into 1st st (12 sc)(sc, ch 1, sc per corner). Cut yarn leaving a 25 cm tail to use to attach the patch to the body in Part 6.
SUNFLOWER
Make two, using colour (MAHOGANY) make a mc.
Round 1
Ch 1 (does not count as a st), 6 sc into mc, ss into 1st st (6 sc).
Round 2
Ch 1 (does not count as a st), sc 2 into same st, sc 2 into next 5 sts, ss into 1st st (12 sc)
Round 3
Ch 1 (does not count as a st), sc 2 into same st, sc into next st, *sc 2 into next st, sc into next st* rep *.* 4 more times, ss into 1st st (18 sc), cut yarn and weave in ends.
Round 4
Using colour (BABY YELLOW), start in any sc from previous round, *[ch 2, hdc, ch 3, ss into 3rd ch from hook, hdc, ch 2], ss into same st, ss into next 2 sts* rep *.* 8 more times, cut yarn, leaving a 30 cm tail.
Helpful hint: we will attach the sunflowers to the hat and body in Part 6.
LEAF
Make three. Using colour (FERN), chain 6.
Row 1
Sc into 2nd ch from hook, hdc into next ch, dc into next 2 chs, [dc 3, ch 3, ss into 1st ch, dc 3] into last ch, (working back along the other side of the chs) dc into next 2 chs, hdc into next ch, sc into next ch, ss into 1st st, cut yarn leaving a 25 cm tail.
Helpful hint: we will attach the leaf to the head in Part 6.
NOSE
Make one, using colour (ORANGE) make a magic circle.
Helpful hint: remember to go back down to a 3.5mm hook for the rest of the pattern.
Helpful hint: we are working in rows so turn your work after each row.
Row 1
Ch 1 (does not count as a st), sc 2 into mc (2 sc), turn work.
Row 2
Ch 1 (does not count as a st), sc into same st, sc into next st (2 sc), turn work.
Row 3
Ch 1 (does not count as a st), sc 2 into same st, sc 2 into next st (4 sc), turn work.
Row 4
Ch 1 (does not count as a st), sc 2 into same st, sc into next 2 sts, sc 2 into next st (6 sc), turn work.
Row 5
Ch 1 (does not count as a st), sc into same st, sc into next 5 sts (6 sc), cut yarn, leaving a 20 cm tail.
Helpful hint: we will attach the nose to the face in Part 6.
DUNGEREE BUTTONS
Make two, using colour (MAHOGANY) make a mc.
Round 1
Ch 1 (does not count as a st), 8 hdc into mc, ss into 1st st (8 hdc), cut yarn, leaving a 20 cm tail.
Helpful hint: we will be adding the buttons to the front of the dungarees in Part 6.
PUMPKIN MOTIF
Make one. Using colour (ORANGE) make a mc.
Round 1
Ch 1 (does not count as a st), 10 hdc into mc, ss into 1st st (10 hdc).
Round 2
Ch 1 (does not count as a st), sc into same st, [hdc, dc] into next st, *dc 2 into next st* rep *.* 1 more time, [dc, hdc] into next st, sc into next st, [hdc, dc] into next st, *dc 2 into next st* rep *.* 1 more time, [dc, hdc] into next st, ss into 1st st (2 sc, 4 hdc, 12 dc), cut yarn, leaving a 30 cm tail.
STALK
Using colour (MAHOGANY) join with a slip stitch into any hdc below a sc from round 2, make a sc, ch 4, cut yarn, leaving a 20 cm tail.
Helpful hint: we will use the tail ends to attach the pumpkin pockets to the dungarees in Part 6.
