PATTERN PART 8

NOSE

Make one.  Using colour (FORGET-ME-NOT) chain 12

Row 1

Ss into 2nd ch from hook, ss into next ch, sc into next 2 chs, hdc into next ch, dc 2 into next ch, hdc into next ch, sc into next 2 chs, ss into next 2 chs, ch 1 (does not count as a st)

(now work down the opposite side of the chs), ss into next 2 chs, sc into next 2 chs, hdc into next ch, dc 2 into next ch, hdc into next st, sc into next 2 chs, ss into next 2 chs , ch 1 (does not count as a st) (8 ss, 8 sc, 4 hdc, 4 dc).

Helpful hint: the chain one after the last slip stitch so that when you make the needle join this corner does not pull tighter than the other corner, it just gives you more wiggle room to go around the corner of the nose.

Cut yarn leaving a 25 cm tail, finish with a nj to 1st st. Carefully weave in the starting tail between the back of the chains to close any holes that formed when making stitches.

Helpful hint: we will use the tail to attach the nose to the blanket in Part 9.

EARS

Make two.  Using colour (CHERRY BLOSSOM) make a mc.

Helpful hint: do not pull your mc too tight as you will need to work a sc st into the centre of the mc when you make the border.

Helpful hint: we are working in rows.

Row 1

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), sc 2 into mc (2 sc), turn work.

Row 2
