PATTERN PART 7

HEAD

Make one. Using colour (PORCELAIN), make a magic circle.

Helpful hint: we are working in rounds.

Round 1

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), sc 6 into mc, place st marker in 6th  st and continue to work in the round (6 sc).

Helpful hint: move the stitch marker (or use a running marker) and place in the last stitch of each round; this will help keep your stitch count correct and help with round counting. Because we are working quite tightly in the round, I weave my starting tail in whilst working round 2.

Round 2

*Sc 2 into next st*, rep *.*5 more times (12 sc).

Round 3

*Sc 2 into next st, sc into next st*, rep *.* 5 more times (18 sc).

Round 11

Sc into next 60 sts, ss into 1st st (60 sc), cut yarn leaving an 80 cm tail, finish with a nj.

Helpful hint: we will use the tail to attach the head to the blanket in Part 9.

BODY

Make one. Using colour (PORCELAIN), make a magic circle.

Helpful hint: we are working in rounds.

Round 1

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), sc 8 into mc, place st marker in 8th  st and continue to work in the round (8 sc).

Helpful hint: move the stitch marker (or use a running marker) and place in the last stitch of each round; this will help keep your stitch count correct and help with round counting. Because we are working quite tightly in the round, I weave my starting tail in whilst working round 2.

Round 2

*Sc 2 into next st*, rep *.* 7 more times (16 sc).

Round 3

*Sc 2 into next st, sc into next st*, rep *.* 7 more times (24 sc).

Round 12

Sc into next 88 sts, ss into 1st st (88 sc), cut yarn leaving a 65 cm tail, finish with a nj.

Helpful hint: we will use the tail to attach the body to the blanket in Part 9.

CHEEKS

Make two. Using colour (CHERRY BLOSSOM), make a magic circle.

Round 1

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), sc 6 into mc (6 sc), cut yarn leaving a 15 cm tail, finish with a nj. Helpful hint: we will use the tail to attach the cheeks to the blanket in Part 9.

Make four. Using colour (PURPLE HYDRANGEA), make a mc.

Helpful hint: do not pull your mc too tight as you will need to work a sc st into the centre of the mc when you make the border.

Row 1

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), sc 5 into mc (5 sc), turn work.

Row 2

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), sc 2 into same st, *sc into next st, sc 2 into next st* rep *.* 1 more time (8 sc), turn work.
