HANDS AND ARMS

Make two. Using colour (MAHOGANY), make a magic circle.

Helpful hint: we are working in the round.

Round 1

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), sc 6 into mc, place st marker into 6th sc and continue to work in the round (6 sc).

Helpful hint: move the stitch marker (or use a running marker) and place in the last stitch of each round; this will help keep your stitch count correct and help with round counting.  Because we are working quite tightly in the round, I weave my starting tail in whilst working round 2.

Round 2

*Sc 2 into next st*, rep *.* 5 more times (12 sc).

Round 3

*Sc 2 into next st, sc into next st*, rep *.*  5 more times (18 sc).

Round 4

*Sc 2 into next st, sc into next 2 sts*, rep *.* 5 more times (24 sc).

Rounds 5 – 12

Sc into next 24 sts (24 sc).

Round 13

Sc into next 22 sts, inv sc2tog (23 sc).

Round 14

Sc into next 21 sts, inv sc2tog (22 sc).

Round 15

Sc into next 22 sts (22 sc).

Round 16

Sc into next 20 sts, inv sc2tog (21 sc).

Round 17

Sc into next 19 sts, inv sc2tog (20 sc).

Round 18

Sc into next 18 sts, inv sc2tog (19 sc).

Round 19

Sc into next 19 sts (19 sc).

Round 20

Sc into next 17 sts, inv sc2tog (18 sc).

Rounds 21 – 23

Sc into next 18 sts (18 sc).  At the end of round 23, cut yarn leaving a 25 cm tail to close the “wrist” section to keep the stuffing inside the hand. We will do this after round 24.

Round 24

Using colour (MAHOGANY), join into last sc from round 23, ch 1 (does not count as a st), dc into same sp, dc into next 17 sts, ss into 1st st (18 dc).

Helpful hint: you can add some stuffing to the hand.

Rounds 25 – 33

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), dc into same sp, dc into next 17 sts, ss into 1st st (18 dc).

Helpful hint: place the stitch marker into your working loop so that round 33 does not unravel. Firmly stuff the hands. To make a “wrist” and secure the stuffing into the hands, use the tail from round 23 to stitch the opening closed between rounds 23 and 24. Stitch the wrist area twice to make sure it is closed securely. The arm is not stuffed so you can cut the yarn and weave in the end, then continue with round 34.

Round 34

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), sc into same sp, sc into next 17 sts, ss into 1st sc (18 sc), ss the opening closed in BLO (9 ss), cut yarn leaving a 30 cm tail.

Helpful hint: we will use the tail to attach the arms to the body in Part 6.

LEGS AND FEET

Make two. Using colour (MAHOGANY), make a magic circle.

Helpful hint: we are working in the round.

Round 1

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), sc 6 into mc, place st marker into 6th sc and continue to work in the round (6 sc).

Round 3

Round 4

*Sc 2 into next st, sc into next 2 sts*, rep *.* 5 more times (24 sc).

Round 5

*Sc 2 into next st, sc into next 3 sts*, rep *.* 5 more times (30 sc).

Rounds 6 – 14

Sc into next 30 sts (30 sc).

Round 19

Round 20

*Inv sc2tog, sc into next 10 sts*, rep *.* 1 more time (22 sc).

Rounds 21 – 22

Sc into next 22 sts (22 sc).

Round 23

*Inv sc2tog, sc into next 9 sts*, rep *.* 1 more time (20 sc).

Rounds 24 – 28

Sc into next 20 sts (20 sc).  At the end of round 28 stuff the foot and leg until firm, be careful not to overstuff, ss the opening closed in BLO (10 ss), cut yarn and weave in end.

Helpful hint: we will attach the legs to the body in Part 6 using the tail from the leg section of the body.
