BODY

Make one. Using colour (MAHOGANY), chain 32 and slip stitch into the 1st chain to make a circle.

Helpful hint: we are working in rounds.

Helpful hint: the chain 1 at the beginning of each round does not count as a stitch, but it is important to make the chain 1, and you will see why as we go along – it makes a nice straight seam – make the chain 1 loose otherwise the seam will “pull” up on this side.

Round 1
Ch 1 (does not count as a st), dc into same ch, dc into next 14 chs, dc 3 into next ch, dc into next 15 chs, dc 3 into next ch, ss into 1st st (36 dc).

Round 2

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), dc into same sp, dc into next 16 sts, dc 2 into next st, dc into next 17 sts, dc 2 into next st, ss into 1st st (38 dc).

Round 3

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), dc into same sp, dc into next 17 sts, dc 2 into next st, dc into next 18 sts, dc 2 into next st, ss into 1st st (40 dc).

Round 4

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), dc into same sp, dc into next 18 sts, dc 2 into next st, dc into next 19 sts, dc 2 into next st, ss into 1st st (42 dc).

Round 5

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), dc into same sp, dc into next 19 sts, dc 2 into next st, dc into next 20 sts, dc 2 into next st, ss into 1st st (44 dc).

Round 6

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), dc into same sp, dc into next 20 sts, dc 2 into next st, dc into next 21 sts, dc 2 into next st, ss into 1st st (46 dc).

Round 7

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), dc into same sp, dc into next 21 sts, dc 2 into next st, dc into next 22 sts, dc 2 into next st, ss into 1st st (48 dc).

Round 8

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), dc into same sp, dc into next 22 sts, dc 2 into next st, dc into next 23 sts, dc 2 into next st, ss into 1st st (50 dc).

Round 9

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), dc into same sp, dc into next 23 sts, dc 2 into next st, dc into next 24 sts, dc 2 into next st, ss into 1st st (52 dc).

Round 10

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), dc into same sp, dc into next 24 sts, dc 2 into next st, dc into next 25 sts, dc 2 into next st, ss into 1st st (54 dc).

Rounds 11 – 19

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), dc into same sp, dc into next 53 sts, ss into 1st st (54 dc).

 

FIRST LEG

Round 20

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), dc into same sp, dc into next 10 sts, skip 32 sts, dc into next 11 sts, ss into 1st st (22 dc).

Rounds 21 – 24

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), dc into same sp, dc into next 21 sts, ss into 1st st (22 dc).

Round 25

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), sc into same sp, sc into next 21 sts, ss into 1st st (22 sc), cut yarn leaving a 25 cm tail.

 

SECOND LEG

Round 20
Sk 5 sts from round 19 after the 1st leg, using colour (MAHOGANY), leave a 20 cm starting tail which we will use to stitch the opening between the legs closed in Part 6, join into 6th dc (leaving 5 sts unworked from round 19).  Ch 1 (does not count as a st), dc into same sp, dc into next 21 sts, ss into 1st st (22 dc).

Rounds 21 – 24

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), dc into same sp, dc into next 21 sts, ss into 1st st (22 dc).

Round 25

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), sc into same sp, sc into next 21 sts, ss into 1st st (22 sc), cut yarn leaving a 25 cm tail.

Helpful hint: we will attach the legs to the body in Part 6.

 

NECK

Helpful hint: join yarn at one side of the neck opening so that the “seam” is on the side of the body.

Using colour (MAHOGANY), join into dc from round 1 of the body.

Round 1

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), sc into same sp, sc into next 31 chs, ss into 1st st (32 sc).

Round 2

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), *sc2tog, sc into next 2 sts*, rep *.* 7 more times (24 sc), ss the neck closed in BLO, cut yarn leaving a 40 cm tail.

Helpful hint: we will attach the neck to the head in Part 6.

 

HEART

Make one for each ragdoll.  Using colour (PALE SAGE), make a magic circle.

Helpful hint: we are working in rounds.

Round 1

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), sc 12 into mc, ss into 1st sc (12 sc).

Round 2
Ch 3, dc into same sp, dc 3 into next st, hdc into next st, sc into next 2 sts, hdc into next st (bottom of heart), sc into next 2 sts, hdc into next st, dc 3 into next st, dc into next st, ch 3, ss into same sp, ss into next st (2 ch 3, 4 sc, 3 hdc, 8 dc), cut yarn leaving a 35 cm tail.

Helpful hint: we will attach the heart to the body in Part 6.
