Melly Teddy Ragdoll Blossom Fairy Part 3

Melly Teddy Ragdoll Blossom Fairy Part 3

is a free crochet along.

The Melly Teddy Ragdoll Blossom Fairy Part 3 is part of a free CAL.

The Melly Teddy Ragdoll Blossom Fairy (part 3) is one of four fairies – she is the third one (her older sisters are the Harvest Fairy and the Snowfall Fairy) and she will be followed by one more sister during the course of 2021. She was created because I think we all need a little bit of magic in our lives and my little girl is thrilled to be Blossom Fairy’s new mommy. The Ragdoll is a cross between a lovey blanket and a soft toy and perfect to crochet for anyone who needs some cuddles.  Make a super cute Melly Teddy Ragdoll for that special person in your life.

They are fun and easy to make and are soft and snugly, perfect for cuddling and great yarn busters.

PATTERN – MELLY TEDDY RAGDOLL SNOWFALL FAIRY  PART 3

HANDS

Make two – lightly stuffed and worked in the round.  Using colour (A) yarn make a mc.

Round 1

Ch 1, sc 6 into mc, place st marker into 6th sc and continue to work in the round (6 sc).

Round 2

Sc 2 into each st (12 sc).

Round 3

*Sc 2 into next st, sc into next st*, rep *.*  5 more times (18 sc).

Round 4

*Sc 2 into next st, sc into next 2 sts*, rep *.* 5 more times (24 sc).

Rounds 5 – 9

Sc into next 24 sts (24 sc).

Round 10 – making the thumb

Make a 5 tr cl st into next st, sc into next 23 sts (1 x 5 tr cl, 23 sc).

Helpful hint: when working the next round, you need to make a single crochet into the top of the 5 treble cluster stitch.

Round 11

Sc into next 22 sts, inv sc2tog (23 sc).

Round 12

Sc into next 21 sts, inv sc2tog (22 sc).

Round 13

Sc into next 20 sts, inv sc2tog (21 sc).

Round 14

Sc into next 19 sts, inv sc2tog (20 sc).

Round 15

Sc into next 18 sts, inv sc2tog (19 sc).

Round 16

Sc into next 17 sts, inv sc2tog (18 sc).

Short Round 17

Sc an additional (approximately) 12 to 14 sts so that you end up on the side opposite the thumb so that the “join” for the arm will be underneath (the arm), then ss into the next st (app 12 to 14 sc), cut yarn leaving a long tail to use to close the “wrist” section of the hand to keep the stuffing inside the hand.  We will do this after the next few rounds.

ARMS

Re-join colour (A) yarn into the last sc from short round 17.

Rounds 18 – 26

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), dc into same st, dc into the next 17 sts, ss into 1st dc (18 dc).

Helpful hint: lightly stuff the hands, think squishy, then using the tail left after short round 17 slip stitch the “wrist” closed, securing the stuffing into the hand, the arm is not stuffed so you can cut the yarn and weave in ends.

Round 27

Ch 1 (does not count as st), sc into same sp, sc into next 17 sts, ss into 1st sc (18 sc), ss the opening closed, cut yarn leaving a tail long to use to attach the arm to the body.

Helpful hint: we will attach the arm to the body in Part 6.

LEGS

Make two, firmly stuffed and worked in the round using colour (A).

Round 1

Ch 10, sc into 2nd ch from hook, sc into next 7 sts, 5 sc into last ch, working back along the other side of the ch’s, sc into next 7 ch, 2 sc into last ch (22 sc).

Sc into next 10 sts, *inv sc2tog*, rep *.* 1 more time, sc into next st, *inv sc2tog*, rep *.* 1 more time, sc into next 14 sts (29 sc].

Round 10

Sc into next 8 sts, *inv sc2tog*, rep *.* 1 more time, sc into next st, *inv sc2tog*, rep *.* 1 more time, sc into next 12 sts (25).

Round 11

Sc into next 8 sts, inv sc2tog, sc into next st, inv sc2tog, sc into next 12 st (23).

Round 12

Sc into next 8 sts, inv sc2tog, sc into next 13 sts (22).

Rounds 13 – 27

Sc into next 22 sts (22 sc).

Helpful hint: at the end of round 27 single crochet approximately 3 more stitches to get to the “side” of the leg, then stuff the foot until firm, be careful not to overstuff, and then slip stitch the opening closed, cut the yarn and weave in the ends.

Helpful hint: we will attach the legs to the body in Part 6.
