PATTERN – MR FOX RAGDOLL PART 2

BODY

Not stuffed, worked in rows, using colour (A) yarn chain 32 and ss into the first chain to make a circle.

Helpful hint: work into the outside loop of the chain for this round, we will use the inside loop of the chain later when we are finished with the body.

Helpful hint: the chain 1 at the beginning of each row does not count as a stitch, but it is important to make the chain 1, and you will see why as we go along – it makes a nice straight seam – make the chain 1 loose otherwise the seam will “pull” up on this side.

Round 1

Ch 1, dc into same ch, dc 14, 3 dc into next ch, dc 15, 3 dc into next ch, ss into 1st dc (36 dc).

Round 2

Ch 1, dc into same st, dc 16, 2 dc into next st, dc 17, 2 dc into next st, ss into 1st dc (38 dc).

Round 3

Ch 1, dc into same st, dc 17, 2 dc into next st, dc 18, 2 dc into next st, ss into 1st dc (40 dc).

Round 4

Ch 1, dc into same st, dc 18, 2 dc into next st, dc 19, 2 dc into next st, ss into 1st dc (42 dc).

Round 5

Repeat round 21 (22 dc).

Round 25

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), sc into same st, sc into next 21 sts (22 sc), ss into 1st st, cut yarn leaving a long tail to use later when we attach the leg to the pants in Part 6.

SECOND LEG

Helpful hint: skip 5 stitches from round 19 after the first leg, re-join yarn (C) to the 6th double crochet with a slip stitch, leave a long tail which you will use to stitch the opening between the legs closed in Part 6.

Round 20

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), dc into same st, dc 10, ss into 1st dc (22 dc).

Round 21

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), dc into same st, dc 21, ss into 1st dc (22 dc).

Rounds 22 – 24

Repeat round 21 (22 dc).

Round 25

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), sc into same st, sc into next 21 sts (22 sc), ss into 1st st, cut yarn leaving a long tail to use later when we attach the leg to the pants in Part 6.

NECK

Using colour (A) join yarn to round 1 of the body with a slip stitch.

Helpful hint: join yarn at one side of the neck at the top of the opening (where we are going to attach the head).

Round 1

Ch 1, sc into same st, sc 31 along the neck ch, ss into 1st sc (32 sc)

Round 2

Ch 1, *sc2tog, sc into next 2 sts*, rep *.* 7 more times (24 sc), ss opening closed, cut yarn leaving a 40 cm tail to use to slip stitch the head to the body in Part 6.

TUMMY

Make one, worked in rows using colour (B) yarn.

Row 1

Ch 2, 2 sc into 2nd ch from hook, ch 1, turn work (2 sc).

Row 2

Sc into 1st st, 2 sc into next st, ch 1, turn work (3 sc).

Row 3

Sc into 1st st, sc into next st, 2 sc into next st, ch 1, turn work (4 sc).

Row 4

Sc into 1st st, sc into next 2 sts, 2 sc into next st, ch 1, turn work (5 sc).

Row 5

Sc into 1st st, sc into next 3 sts, 2 sc into next st, ch 1, turn work (6 sc).

Row 6

Sc into 1st st, sc into next 4 sts, 2 sc into next st, ch 1, turn work (7 sc).

Row 7

Sc into 1st st, sc into next 5 sts, 2 sc into next st, ch 1, turn work (8 sc).

Row 8

Sc into 1st st, sc into next 6 sts, 2 sc into next st, ch 1, turn work (9 sc).

Row 9

Sc into 1st st, sc into next 7 sts, 2 sc into next st, ch 1, turn work (10 sc).

Row 10

Repeat row 15 (15 sc).

Row 22

Sc2tog, sc into next 13 sts, ch 1, turn work (14 sc).

Row 23

Sc2tog, sc into next 12 sts, ch 1, turn work (13 sc).

Row 24

Sc2tog, sc into next 11 sts, ch 1, turn work (12 sc).

Row 25

Sc2tog, sc into next 10 sts, ch 1, turn work (11 sc).

Row 26

Sc2tog, sc into next 9 sts, ch 1, turn work (10 sc).

Row 27

Sc2tog, sc into next 8 sts, ch 1, turn work (9 sc).

Row 28

Sc2tog, sc into next 7 sts, ch 1, do not turn work (8 sc).

Border

Sc into same sp, sc evenly along the side of the tummy to the point, [sc ch 1 sc] corner made, sc evenly along the other side of the tummy, [sc ch 1 sc] along the flat edge (bottom of tummy), ss into 1st st, cut yarn leaving a tail long enough to attach the tummy to the body in Part 6.
