PATTERN – MELLY TEDDY RAGDOLL LUNA THE WITCH & ECLIPSE THE BLACK CAT

PART 2

HANDS

Make two, lightly stuffed and worked in the round, using colour (A) yarn make a mc.

Round 1

Ch 1, sc 6 into mc, place st marker into 6th sc and continue to work in the round (6 sc).

Round 2

Sc 2 into each st (12 sc).

Round 3

*Sc 2 into next st, sc into next st*, rep *.*  5 more times (18 sc).

Round 4

*Sc 2 into next st, sc into next 2 sts*, rep *.* 5 more times (24 sc).

Round 5

Sc into next 24 sts (24 sc).

Round 6 – 9

Repeat round 5 (24 sc).

Round 10 – making the thumb

Helpful hint: if you are unsure of how to make a 5 treble cluster stitch pop on up to the top of the pattern and check out the abbreviation.  It is a normal cluster stitch just done using a treble and 5 together, closed with a sc – perfect to make the thumb.

Make a 5 tr cl st into next st, sc into next 23 sts (1 x 5 tr cl, 23 sc).

Round 11

Sc into next 22 sts, sc2tog (23 sc).

Round 12

Sc into next 21 sts, sc2tog (22 sc).

Round 13

Sc into next 20 sts, sc2tog (21 sc).

Round 14

Sc into next 19 sts, sc2tog (20 sc).

Round 15

Sc into next 18 sts, sc2tog (19 sc).

Round 16

Sc into next 17 sts, sc2tog (18 sc).

Round 17

Sc into next 18 sts (18 sc).

Rounds 18 – 19

Repeat round 17 (18 sc).

Round 20

Sc into next 13 sts, and ss into next st, (or as many ss as you need to get to the opposite side of the thumb which will be the bottom of the arm), lightly stuff the hand, ss the opening closed, cut the yarn and weave in the ends.

Helpful hint: we will attach the hands to the sleeves in Part 6.

SLEEVES

Using colour (B) yarn loosely ch 20, leaving a long tail (to use to attach sleeves to the body).

Round 1

Ss into the 1st ch, forming a circle, then ch 1 (does not count as a st), dc into same st, dc into next 19 ch, ss into 1st dc (20 dc).

Round 2

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), dc into same st, dc into next 19 sts, ss into 1st dc (20 dc).

Rounds 3 – 10

Repeat round 2

Round 11

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), 2 sc into same st, 2 sc into next 19 sts, ss into 1st sc (40 sc).

Round 12

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), hdc into same st, hdc into next 39 sts, ss into 1st hdc (40 hdc).

Round 13

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), hdc into same st, hdc into next 39 sts, ss into 1st hdc (40 hdc), cut yarn leaving enough to stitch the hand into the sleeve in Part 6.

Helpful hint: we will attach the hand to the sleeve in Part 6.

FRONT PAWS/ARMS (Eclipse the black Cat)

Make two – lightly stuffed and worked in the round, using colour (B) yarn make a mc.

Round 1

Ch 1, sc 6 into mc, place st marker into 6th sc and continue to work in the round (6 sc).

Round 2

*2 Sc into next st*, rep *.* 5 more times (12 sc).

Round 3

*2 Sc into next st, sc into next st*, rep *.* 5 more times (18 sc).

Round 4

*2 Sc into next st, sc into next 2 sts*, rep *.* 5 more times (24 sc).

Round 5

Sc into next 24 sts (24 sc).

Round 6

Repeat round 5 (24 sc).

Round 7

Sc into next 9 sts, sc2tog, sc2tog, sc2tog, sc into next 9 sts (21 sc).

Round 8

Sc into next 8 sts, sc2tog, sc, sc2tog, sc into next 8 sts (19 sc).

Round 9

Sc into next 7 sts, sc2tog, sc, sc2tog, sc into next 7 sts (17 sc).

Round 10

Sc into next 4 sts, sc2tog, sc2tog, sc into next st, sc2tog, sc2tog, sc into next 4 sts (13 sc).

Round 11

Sc into next 13 sts (13 sc).

Rounds 12 – 13

Repeat round 11 (13 sc), at the end of round 13 ss into next st, cut yarn leaving a tail long enough to slip stitch the “wrist” section of the “paw” to keep the stuffing in place.

Helpful hint: reattach yarn to the last sc of the previous round and you can lightly stuff the “paw” before you finish the arm section.

Round 14

Ch 1 (does not count as st), dc into same st, dc into next 12 sts, ss into 1st st (13 dc).

Helpful hint: after a few rounds of the arm you can lightly stuff the paw and then using the tail left after round 13 ss the stuffing into place along the space between the single crochet round and the double crochet round – sort of like a wrist, cut yarn and weave in the ends.

Rounds 15 – 19

Repeat round 14 (13 dc).

Round 20

Ch 1 (does not count as st), sc into same st, sc into next 12 sts (13 sc) ss into 1st st, fold in half and ss the opening closed.

Helpful hint: we will attach the arm to the body in Part 6.

BACK PAWS/LEGS (Eclipse the black Cat)

Make two – lightly stuffed and worked in the round, using colour (B) yarn make a mc.

Round 1

Ch 1, sc 6 into mc, place st marker into 6th sc and continue to work in the round (6 sc).

Round 2

*2 Sc into next st*, rep *.* 5 more times (12 sc).

Round 3

*2 Sc into next st, sc into next st*, rep *.* 5 more times (18 sc).

Round 4

*2 Sc into next st, sc into next 2 sts*, rep *.* 5 more times (24 sc).

Round 5

*2 Sc into next st, sc into next 3 sts*, rep *.* 5 more times (30 sc).

Round 6

Sc into next 30 sts (30 sc).

Round 7

Repeat round 6 (30 sc).

Round 8

Sc into next 12 sts, sc2tog, sc2tog, sc2tog, sc into next 12 sts (27 sc).

Round 9

Sc into next 11 sts, sc2tog, sc, sc2tog, sc into next 11 sts (25 sc).

Round 10

Sc into next 10 sts, sc2tog, sc, sc2tog, sc into next 10 sts (23 sc).

Round 11

Sc into next 9 sts, sc2tog, sc2tog, sc2tog, sc into next 8 sts (20 sc).

Round 12

Sc into next 20 sts (20 sc).

Rounds 13 – 18

Repeat round 12 (20 sc), at the end of round 18 ss into next st, lightly stuff the paw, ss opening closed, cut yarn leaving a long tail to use to attach the “paw” part of the leg as well as shaping the paws which we will do in Part 6.

Helpful hint: we will attach the foot to the body in Part 6.

EARS (Eclipse the black Cat)

Make two using colour (A) yarn make a mc – worked in the round.

Round 1

Ch 1 (does not count as st), sc 6 into mc (6 sc).

Round 2

2 Sc into next st, sc into next st*, rep *.* 2 more times (9 sc).

Round 3

2 Sc into next st, sc into next 2 sts*, rep *.* 2 more times (12 sc).

Round 4

2 Sc into next st, sc into next 3 sts*, rep *.* 2 more times (15 sc).

Round 5

2 Sc into next st, sc into next 4 sts*, rep *.* 2 more times (18 sc).

Round 6

Sc into next 18 sts (18 sc), ss open ends together, cut yarn leaving a tail long enough to attach the ears to the head in Part 6.

HEART

Make two using colour (E) yarn make a mc.

Round 1
Ch 1 (does not count as a st) sc 12 into mc, ss into 1st sc (12 sc).

Round 2

Ch 3 (counts as 1st dc), dc into same st, dc 3 into next st, hdc into next st, sc into next 2 sts, hdc into next st (bottom of heart), sc into next 2 sts, hdc into next st, dc 3 into next st, dc into next st, ch 3, ss into dc from previous round, cut yarn, leaving a long tail to use to stitch to top of body, then ss into the base of the last dc to give you a nice heart shape (2 x ch 3, 3 x hdc, 8 x dc, 4 x sc).

Helpful hint: we will stitch the heart onto the body of the witch and the cat in Part 6.
