PATTERN

MELLY TEDDY RAGDOLL PILOT BEAR PART 5

EARS

Make two – worked in the round, using colour (A) yarn make a mc.

Round 1

Ch 1, sc 8 into mc, place st marker into 8th sc and continue to work in the round (8 sc).

Round 2

Sc 2 into each st (16 sc).

Round 3

*Sc 2 into next st, sc into next st*, rep *.* 7 more times (24 sc).

Round 4

Sc into next 24 sts (24 sc).

Round 5

Repeat round 4 (24 sc).

Round 6

*Sc 2 into next st, sc into next 5 sts*, rep *.* 3 more times (28 sc).

Round 7

Sc into next 28 sts (28 sc).

Round 8

*Sc2tog, sc into next 2 sts*, rep *.* 6 more times (21 sc), ss into next st, ss the bottom of the ears together, cut yarn, leaving a long tail to use to attach to the hat/head.

Helpful hint: we will stitch the ears onto the hat/head in Part 6.

TAIL

Make one – not stuffed, using colour (A) yarn make a mc.

Round 1

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), 10 dc into mc, ss into 1st st (10 dc) – pull mc closed.

Round 2

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), *2 dc into same st, dc into next st*, rep *.* 4 more times, ss into 1st st (15 dc).

Round 3

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), hdc into same st, hdc into next 14 sts, ss into 1st st (15 hdc).

Round 4

*Sc2tog, sc into next st*, rep *.* 4 more times, ss into 1st st (10 sc), cut yarn, leaving a long tail to use to attach the tail to the body.

Helpful hint: we will stitch the tail to the back of the body in Part 6.

SCARF

Make one, worked in rows using colour (G) ch 6.

Row 1

Hdc into 2nd ch from the hook, hdc into next 4 ch (5 hdc), turn work.

Helpful hint: the chains at the beginning of this row count as the 1st hdc.

Row 2

Ch 1 (does not count as st), hdc into next 5 sts (5 hdc), turn work.

Rows 3 – 69

Repeat row 2 (5 hdc)

Row 70

Ch 1 (does not count as st), hdc into next 5 sts (5 hdc), cut yarn, weave in ends.

Tassel

Using colour (G) yarn make 5 tassels per side.

I used 2 strands per tassel each 10 cm long, folded over and threaded through the bottom of each end of the scarf.

Helpful hint: we will slip stitch the scarf onto the body in Part 6.

PILOT WINGS

Center

Make one, using colour (E) yarn make a mc.

Round 1

Make 10 hdc into mc, ss into 1st st (10 hdc)

Round 2

Ch 1 (does not count as st), 2 sc into same sp, 2 sc into next 9 sts, (20 sc) cut yarn leaving a long tail to use to attach to the jumper in Part 6.

Wings

Make two, worked in rows using colour (E) yarn ch 6.

Row 1

Sc into 2nd ch from hook, sc into next 3 ch, ss into last ch, turn work (4 sc, 1 ss).

Row 2

Ch 1 (does not count as st), sk ss, sc into next 2 sts, 2 sc into next st, sc into next st, ch 4 (5 sc).

Row 3

Sc into 2nd ch from hook, sc into next 2 ch, sc into next st, 2 sc into next st, sc into next 2 sts, ss into last st (8 sc, 1 ss), cut yarn leaving long tail to use to attach the pilot wings to the top of the body in Part 6.
