Tutti Frutti Square 2 Crochet Pattern

TUTTI FRUTTI SQUARE 2

The first Tutti Frutti Square crochet pattern was designed in celebration of International Granny Square day which was the 15 August 2019.

It was so popular that I decided to make another square. The Tutti Frutti Square 2 is a free pattern to make a fun square in celebration of the promise of Spring, and reminds me of the sweets I used to get as a child and this inspired the name.  I am planning on making enough of these squares to eventually make a baby blanket.

Tutti Frutti Square 2 | MandMcrochetdesigns "#crochetsquare #crochetforbabies #overlaycrochet #freecrochetpattern #crochetgrannysquare

The Tutti Frutti Squares reminds me of sweets, which is what inspired the name – those Tutti Frutti type sweets we got as children.

Round 1

Using colour (A) make a mc.

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), *dc, ch 1*, rep 7 more times, ss into 1st dc.

Stitch count:  8 x dc, 8 x ch 1

Round 2

Ss into next ch sp, ch 1 (does not count as a st), *make a 4 cl st, ch 3*, rep *.* 7 more times, ss into 1st cl st, cut yarn and weave in ends.

Stitch count:  8 x 4 cl st, 8 x ch 3

Round 3

Using colour (B) start in any ch 3 sp.

Make a standing *dc, fptr around dc from round 1, dc into next ch sp, fpdc around cl st*, rep *.* 7 more times, ss into 1st dc, cut yarn and weave in ends.

Stitch count: 16 x dc, 8 x fptr, 8 x fpdc
