Standing Half Double Crochet Photo Tutorial

Step by step photo tutorial on how to make a Standing Half Double Crochet #standinghalfdoublecrochet  #mandmcrochetdesignsphototutorial #crochettutorial

A photo tutorial of how to make a standing half double crochet really helped me work out how to do this stitch, which is fabulous to use when starting a new row, because it looks very similar to a “normal” half double crochet, as apposed to using a chain two (for a half double crochet starting stitch).

I just love it! So I thought I would make one to share with you.

Hold the tail end of your yarn with your little finger and wrap the working end over your hook twice, from back to front.

Insert the hook into the space you need to make your starting stitch, yarn over.

Pull up a loop so you have three “loops” on your hook.

Yarn over, and pull through all loops on your hook, just like you would making a standard hdc.

Very clever hey 🙂 And it looks so professional, once you master the standing stitch technique you will never start any other way…promise.
